Bose rear speakers do not work

We'll, I've had my Boxster S for a little over a year, and just realized that the rear speaker set from the factory Bose system hardly works at all. Obviously, I'm not much of a hi-fi aficionado.

When I adjust the CDR-220 head unit with fade control biased all the way to the rear, I barely hear a sound from the rear speakers.

I had the rear speaker box out recently when I was installing an under drive pulley, and I'm 100% sure that I connected it back up properly, and it sounds the same as it always has since I have owned it.

So, I either want to fix it to work right, or remove this heavy POS that I am always lugging around autocross and race tracks.

Any ideas?

Thanks for your help.
