Agreed, plug a speaker into the cable that goes into the Bose rear box and see if you hear any sound
Just to be sure: do the rest of your speakers say "Bose" on them?
The reason why I am asking is that what you describe would make sense if someone would connect a Bose rear speaker to a non-Bose head unit/amp
The Bose rear speaker has the weirdest wiring I have ever seen and is proprietary to Bose
