Will these rims fit my Boxster S?

I've got a 2002 Boxster S on stock suspension and I've got the opportunity to buy some rims for it, but I'm not sure if they'll fit at the rear. The rims are 18" x 11" and have a -47 offset. They have 295/30x18 Pirelli PZero on them.

Does anyone know if these will clear the guards and struts at the rear? They're big feet!

Also, add a $1 to the pot. The simple answer is no 11" wheels will not fit your Boxster. The 11's are from a 911 and the combination of width and offset will not work on a 986.

If you do a search on offset, you'll find plenty of information about wheels (and this same question asked many times - hence the $1 to the pot). Your current wheels will have the offset stamped on them and you want to stay fairly close to that number when replacing the wheels with aftermarkets, unless you're willing to add spacers.

You did a wise thing by asking before buying, though. Porsche wheels are expensive and you don't want to make a mistake. Also, be careful of ads that claim their wheels will fit a boxster. Be sure you know what the offset is before hitting the 'add to cart' button. Boxster wheels have different offsets (esp in the rear) than 911s, so you need to be sure the wheels are for Boxsters.

That's a real pity as 295 rubber on the back would look amazing! It looks like what I have on the car now is 18" rims, 10" wide and with an offset of 47 also. That means that the new rims would only intrude 7mm on the inside, which might be alright, but 33mm on the outside which would likely cause issues with the wheel arch, if I've used the Wheel Offset Calculator correctly.

I did do a search before posting, but couldn't locate a definitive response. Thanks again for your input.

Forgestar F14 comes in 12" width "for boxster" .. if you can make do with some fender flares.

Hi Richard,

it is possible to fitting the 11" wheels with offset 47, but you need 15mm spacers and 265/35 tires, also the rear fenders must be modified and you need a negativ camber of -2,5°.

On my own Boxster i have installed 8,5 x 18 and 11,0 x 18 with 225/40 & 265/35 with a lower -100mm suspension and it will fit perfect. but keep in mind, there´s a lot of modifications to do.

I wouldn't recommend going wider than 8.5 on the front, and 10 in the rear .

widest in front is 9,0 offset43 and in rear 10,5 offset 42 without modifications. 9,0 in front with lower offset is possible, also 11,0 with lower offset, but only with a lot of modifications.

With the ROW M030 suspension on a '99 Box, 8x18 w/ 54mm fronts and 9x18 w/43mm rears should fit without modifications?

I would lower the front offset by 10mm's .

The fronts only come in 54mm.

Your suggestion of lowering the offset by 10 mm, is that to increase the clearance to the strut housing? Is that the primary concern?

No wait, I have it backwards? Reducing the offset brings the wheels closer to the strut housing? Sheesh, offsets confuse me...

By adding a 10mm spacer you will create more inner clearance (i.e. from the strut), and the wheel will be moved further out toward the fender .
