The first day I got my car I ran into a Chevy Equinox with black limo tint on I70. He was in front of me in the left lane and would speed up to 95 and then slow down to 52. He changed into the right lane and then back to left before I could pass... then speed back up and then slow down. I downshifted to 2nd and went around him. tached out in 2nd, then 3rd and hit 4th. I was accelerating through 125 when I checked the rear view to see how far back he was. That's when I saw his grill lights light up blue and red... I through up my arms (had the top down) and pulled over immediately. He walked to the car and asked,
"how many tickets would you like sir?"
I sheepishly replied that none would be nice and apologized for driving like such a jackass. He lectured me for 10 mins about driving like a teenager and how he could take me to jail...and then walked back to his truck.
He emerged 10 mins later with a scowl on his face that slowly broke into a smile as he reached my car. "it's always nice to surprise someone like you, here's a warning. If I see you out here doing this again, I will ticket you! Slow it down."
Weirdest and luckiest experience I've ever had with a cop...

This was a cop driving like a drunk idiot? Holy crap I think if he would've given you a ticket you'd of had a good case to get it throw out based on his reckless driving! Makes me think it was a drunk or a serial killer driving erratic like that.

I believe he was bored and was trying to see if he could insight some juvenile behavior from a sports car driver...He was successful so I imagine that after he'd had his fun he decided to send me on my way.

I seem to be invisible to cops, maybe my car has a factory option cloaking device...
I get a lot of compliments from guys, but only a handful of ladies seem impressed (unless they are just playing hard to get)
But around where i live, every young guy with a ricer try's to race me, usually to impress their female passenger. It takes everything in me to not show off hah.

Wanna race?
My 2001 boxster is my daily driver and the top is down every chance I get I just love the wind as I'm motoring around town. Everyone looks at me like I'm some Hollywood star, LOL . I hate being stared at so I ignor them and do not give eye contact. In my small town everyone wants to race. There are many types of cars also from supercharged MG's to BMW, tons of ricers. Now here is the crazy part, the Wife and I try to get lost in the countryside and Big 4X4 Driver comes up on us wanting to have a go at it. I love driving fast and we all know this car does it better than most so that said I will not lead crazy or drunk guy into a corner he can not handle. So go ahead and stare me down, rev your motor, ride my ass. When I'm doing what I love to do its all worth it.

You are setting a fine example. Unfortunately there are too many people out there that race to the scene of their own accident

I get many young guys trying to race me, telling me to rev the engine or do a burnout, or they just want to see me accelerate. Usually not with ricers, but with clean 350z's, Scion tC's, WRX's, Mustang's and Camaro's, and Civic Si's. I usually cave in to my temptations and show em what I got.

The whole thing of guys in big trucks wanting to race seems so weird to me?!? We dont have to many jacked up 4x4's here, lots of nice trucks and SUV just not to many hillbilly-mobile's. I think I answered my question yesterday when I went to a Porsche dealer to test drive a Cayman and a Boxster, both times they just handed me the plate to keep on the passengers seat while driving so the car's had no plate visible from the outside. I was passed from behind by a cop while in the Cayman and went by another cop while in the Boxster and not even a second glance from either of them. So I can probably check my fear of cops of the list.

Yep, they are crazy all right. I have an old friend who takes his lifted 4x4 Duramax Diesel to the drags. It was last dynoed at 1000hp and he spends most of his money replacing trans and rear diffs. Crazy fool wants to race me up winding Mt. Baldy Road in my Boxster. Never gonna happen because he will insist on winning or die trying. Crazy fool.

I can't tell you the number of times we will be motoring along and Big 4x4 Fella comes up on our tail doing at least eighty to get there . My wife will say oh my gosh, she don't curse but I do enough for both of us. I guess we must be passing through his clearly marked territory. I smile and wave him on watching to make sure he goes around us instead of over us. For the most part our country drives are on the back roads and the people always wave as they stare at our car as we cruise by.

Much to my surprise, it's the Benz coupes that want to tango, in the last encounter the traffic was such that who had what car was moot; still I guess he tasted victory reaching nearly the same destination at least 80 feet before me.

What's this 4x4, "trucks" that you guys speak of? Canadians are just too polite to drive those things.
We just have old Asian ladies in their Lexus SUV that hit other cars in the parking lot. They're not mad, just blind.

I get compliments pretty much any time i stop for gas, go to the golf course, meet someone new while I'm driving it, etc. Typically it's just, "I really like your car, it looks great".
Happens quite a bit, but there don't seem to be many Porsche's around here. It's rare to see Boxsters, I typically see more 911's and Cayenne's than anything.
