Smile It's mine!!!

Hi gang!

Today I paid off my Boxster!

Time for a glas of champagne tonight!!

This begs the question, how many of us own their cars free and clear? Just wondering....

Later,
Andy

That's awesome for you, congratulations. As for the poll I don't own it yet but I own more of it than the credit union, it's a good start.

Absofrickenlutely, Frodo. $40k dumped into a $7,500 car thus far (incl. the purchase price). I'm going for a world record for the most cash thrown at a 97 Boxster bought for $15k or less.

Have to compare out build lists. I have almost 300 parts on order from Pelican for my 98' as every time I considered a different section to upgrade/return to new on the car, it just forced me to order more.

Gotta love hobbies!

Paid $13k last June. Wrote a check and had the pink slip a couple weeks later from the DMV. Like Randall I've dumped more into the car than what it's worth, but it will be a great little car for my son somedaY

I paid for my 06 S up front.

That was part of my vow coming out of the fall of 08 to never borrow money again. So far its been working very well, and yes, the ride is just a little bit sweeter knowing that its all mine.

Congrats on your new slice of independence!

Congrat's on full ownership!

I paid $10K cash for the car. Spent $10k in repairs/upgrades. And then spent $15K going to the track for 40 days. Best investment I've ever made.

Nope not me. I'm to busy stimulating the economy. Plus I'm a low paid public servant. Let's see, started in 2009, wanted a Harley but had no money. Borrowed about $12k for that. A few months later, the wife in a moment of weakness, said okay to a Boxster. Had to borrow about $15k for that. The following spring, I had to have a Kawasaki Ninja. Bought a new, leftover '09 and put the entire cost on the credit card. Last February, bought an F150, but paid cash for it. Then this March, bought a Beetle convertible and had to borrow $12k to cover it. I'll be making payments well after my mortgage is paid off. Nope, I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, but saving for retirement and the kid's college is overrated.

Wow, IMO, this takes a large pair of stones, not saying it was a bad decision, just sayin. If there is one paradigm that has served me well many years it is to always have the CC = zero.

The truth is that we never own these cars - they own us. At best we are just caretakers...
