we pulled the weights off before we sprayed, rebalanced and then installed. In the future we will simply put new weights where the old were, or, put them right over the sprayed area. I doubt anyond would notice.

thanks!

Is the coating somewhat textured or is it very smooth for you?

You can do either, depending on the distance the spray gun is held from the surface. With this particular color, my cousin painted his Acura TL from about 14 - 16" which resulted in a rougher, more matte-finished appearance. He then stripped that off and repainted from about 6" which resulted in a very smooth, almost satin look.

My wheels were painted at about 6" and have a smooth, uniform appearance. I'm absolutely pleased with the result, doesn't look cheap or "rattle-can" like.

Looking Good. You should consider Plastidipping the front grills in the bumper.

If you don't like it, you can always peel it off.

That's on the list now, noticed that needed to be done in this picture! I should be able to do that with just a can.

Curious...Since it's almost the same effort in terms of taking the wheels off, cleaning them, and then spraying them, why not just spray them with paint (which is a more permanent solution), than to plastidip them? Won't the plastidip come off rather easily when pebbles/road debris hits it from highway use? Looks nice btw...

No one wants it to be permanent. I have been driving with Plastidipped wheels for a year now. No problems with pebbles or road debris taking the plastidip off.

When it comes time to sell the car, it is worth more in original form.

And painting is much more expensive and requires sanding.

Yep, a lot of what he said. This stuff is what they use to dip your tool handles in. It's actually very tough and temperature tolerant. It will not scuff or tear from small rocks hitting it.

And it is significantly more effort to paint than use this product (having painted wheels before). And now, if i scuff one on a curb, I just peel it off and spray it again for $20.

Will this cover deeper curb rash gashes, or will they need to be smoothed out first?

You'll need to smooth things out, or fill them in if they're deep, first. I've bondo'd wheels in the past before painting and been pleased with the results.
