Floor Mats

After 100,000 miles or so I replace my floor mats. I ordered my third set of Lloyd Mats for the Jägermobile and just received them today. To my surprise they are a little different than previous Lloyd mats. Instead of every letter stitched into the carpet there is a band with the letters stitched into it it, like the carpet was shaved. I wonder why the change? I liked the stitched letters in the carpet.

Cheaper to stitch a pre-made panel with the text onto the mat as compared to custom stitching each letter onto the mat. Sad to say but its generally a WalMart world these days.

Yeah I know what you mean. I got new Loyds floor mats for Xmas. I was not impressed with the quality or the color. I guess $130.00 doesn't buy much any more.

Yeah, I have to cover-up the holes with something!

As you can see my mats get used (at least the driver's side)... New mat is on the right side has a different design.

I installed the new mats this past weekend and the different design is kinda growing on me. They seem to be more classy and distinguished than my previous mats plus the PORSCHE stands-out more. I'm giving them THUMBS UP.

Nice place to trap garbage, and it'll be hard to vacume it out. Extra work needed, doesn't make sense.

Why not get the factory mats? I find the Lloyd mats too thick... in fact I use their rubber mats on the driver's side.

Jäger,

I have those same floor mats, and they're my first set of Lloyds, so I have nothing but good things to say about them, especially compared to the generic all-weather junk the car came with that liked to cover the gas pedal. I have not noticed much of anything getting trapped in that spot compared to any other crap I happen to track into the car getting on the mat in general. The pyle doesn't really hold onto stuff like thinner mats you typically find in a car, so the stuff actually tends to make its way outward and collect on the carpet around the mat instead...go figure, but it makes vacuuming simpler.

You bought the version with the applique logo. Lloyd still has an option to get the logo embroidered straight onto the mats. Maybe the place you purchased from did not show it as an option, or you may have just missed it, but it is still there.

Considering your car is very much a daily driven one, I think the applique will last you longer and show less wear and tear over time compared to the embroidery. That's the part people really notice about the mats anyways is the logo (if there is one), and then they start looking at its condition overall.

Also, where I shopped for my mats, the cost for an applique was no different than the cost for the embroidery.

+1 Pelican has a good price on them. Maybe Lloyds has improved since I had them in the past, but I prefer factory.
