Last year my wife unknowingly brought home a squirrel from where she works. The reason I know this is that there are no squirrels in our neighborhood and there are allot of them where she works. In fact there have been multiple cars vandalized by those varmints where she works... California Ground Squirrels chew the electrical wires in any auto they climb into.

One day coming home I saw a squirrel in the neighbor’s yard and thought to myself that was strange. Going into my house I found my wife pouting, I asked what is wrong; she said her car wouldn’t start. So after inspecting, and knowing something major was wrong, I had her car towed to the dealership. The dealership called a couple hours later and said a rodent chewed through and electrical cable to the tune of $450!! That little*%$#^ squirrel got a ride to our house in my wife’s car, then chewed on my wife’s car!

Over the next week I would see that squirrel running around the neighborhood and scampering under neighbor’s parked cars. Well that following weekend I was doing some remodeling work on the house and had the Jägermobile sitting in the driveway (to make room in the garage for the table and tile saws) and guess what I saw run under my car? Yep, and when I looked around and under the car that squirrel was nowhere to be seen. IT HAD CLIMBED UP INTO MY BOXSTER! So I grabbed the key and jumped into the Jägermobile (and being the Jäger that I am) quickly turned the key to hear the sudden thump behind the seat. It took a little work to access the engine compartment to remove that little %&*#$@, but no more wire chewing squirrel!

And here I thought the little varmint was going to get a ride to some other neighborhood and live happily ever after. Sounds like he wanted some tasty nibbles of your serpentine belt. rip.
