You rang?? Actually, the fan on that side is an exhaust fan, which blows outward to exhaust hot air from the engine compartment. So it is more likely to be ingesting hot air from the engine and blowing it out to the ambient air. I doubt that would cause the kind of condensation that would cause those rust spots. I've never seen them before, ever, on any Boxster. And I'm always either in the southeast, where snow is virtually non existent, or SoCal, where it is actually non-existent. Any chance it is related to snow/road salt or whatever they put on northern roads these days?

EDIT: Randall, I see you're from Houston, so that rules that out. I was looking at the other two people who mentioned having the rust holes, and they're from NY and CT.

Okay, so I'll revise my thesis: maybe it's because you all live by the sea.
