I'm hoping by the end of the week. My guess is that they won't have it done until early next week though. It's just the way things have been going.

Just for grins I looked up my car's current value. $8,750. The repairs are $1600 which is a sizable percentage of the car's current value.
Even if I'm given the keys to a brand new turbo, I cannot part with this car. First car in my lifetime that I wouldn't gladly trade in for something better, but this is the absolute truth. I've got nearly $40k in my car as it sits.
All I can say is thank God it wasn't hit harder and totaled by the insurance company.

Randall, none of us bought these for investments, given what a new base costs 40K isn't bad, especially if you get a couple more years out of it. I had more than that in my 986 and it stopped running at just over thirty thousand. Don't worry about the book value, enjoy the ride, should look great when it's done. My dad is in a truly bad place, enjoy your money his can do nothing for him, we should all enjoy it while we can.

Here ya go. Not the best pix, but you get the point. The owner of the body shop posted them to his FB page and I snagged them. I'm pleased, and the rust spots are gone and there's no orange peel...
Btw, I got a hundred bucks off because it was my 50th bday when I picked up the car. Yay!
