Automatic rear spoiler question

Hi,

I am able to raise the rear spoiler by pressing the button near my left foot. What I can't do is lower it by pressing the button beneath the other button. What I have to do is drive the car until it hits 45 or so and then slow down, then the spoiler lowers.

So I have a few questions :
1. Should the spoiler be able to come down by pressing a button ?
2. If yes, what do you think the problem could be ?
3. What speed does the spoiler automatically come up ?
4. What speed does it come down at ?

Thanks
Terry

I believe mine works the same way, will have to try and see.

2. If yes, what do you think the problem could be ?
Not sure if you really have a problem.

3. What speed does the spoiler automatically come up ?
70 MPH

4. What speed does it come down at ?
I believe it's around 40-45MPH

yes spoiler should go down with button. It is the same button to put it up just pushed down instead of up. Problem - not really just need to remember that. The onlyreason I put mine up manually is to clean it. So you will needto take it for a spin after cleaning.

Speeds are up around 70 and down around 45.

Going up you just need to press and let go. Going down you have to hold it down...

I have a dash board switch that lets me know when it's going up flashing Red LED at 75 MPH (in my Boxster) solid Red LED
when up, and it will only come down (flashing Red LED) when doing 50 MPH, unless I press my other retracting button at 60 MPH

although I think the spoiler on the Boxster is fantastic looking bit of kit , it does get a bit embarrassing if after you have put
your foot down to say join a motorway from a slip road and the spoiler comes up, you then slow down to 60MPH and your
spoiler is still stuck up in the "go faster mode" until your speed comes down to 50MPH when it will retract automatically,
you get what we call over here in the UK "Boy racers" seeing this (Spoiler up) as an invitation to a race against them in their
Vauxhall corsa's, so that is why I've put this button in to retract it at 60 MPH one touch manually works a treat.

How did you wire this up? Just guessing you extended the wires from footwell?

The top one is wired up behind the dashboard to the red spoiler warning light block connector, all the instructions came with the switch, the other one is as you say a direct wire from the foot-well switch, but only on the down motion of the switch.

There is also a version of that top indicator which is also a control switch. Costs a bit more, odf course. Same seller on eBay sells both versions.

Try here. There are several versions, some just indicate, others also activate.

Exactly what I needed.

Is the wiring same across all models/versions? Both - cars and switches.
