The 986S is my 2nd watercooled P-car (first was an '88 944S many years ago). My other daily is a slightly modded 2012 GTI; there's also a 2012 Golf TDI in our fleet.

I can't believe how old this post is. I retired at 60 last June after working for a printing dead line 32 years and always on call. After 6 months retired I was going nuts and rebuilt my motor a second time, and my original 2.7 base motor. I am currently working at a Ski and summer resort as a electrician 4 days a week, enough to keep sane and still have free time I never had before.

56, Retired at 55 as civilian electrical engineer with Naval Surface Weapons Center on the gulf coast of FL.
Now I manage our gulf front vacation properties....ie. I clean toilets (just like my first job at 15!).
Retirement does not suck.
