The early 2.7 will not be a big step up in terms of performance. Bottom line is that it's 200c and 15hp in a 1,300kg car.

Re the 3.2 have you driven one? I like to think of myself as pretty old school when it comes to sports car - maximum feedback, analogue controls etc. But I have to confess, I didn't get on well with the 3.2 I drove. It just felt old (car was owned by Porsche UK, so assume it was a good example), rather than old school.

By contrast, the 968 I drove felt spot on - meaty, old school controls, rather than old and agricultural.

I think for me, 911 love may start with the 964 (with the obvious exception of earlier specials).

Get out there and try one if you haven't already.
