I have a few Porsches, including a Boxster S 3.2L and an '86 Carrera 3.2 liter that I am currently using as my daily driver. Even with Euro pistons, 964 cams, and a free flowing exhaust the Carrera feels a lot slower than the Box. That is mostly attributable to the wonky 915 transmission that will not be hurried, by God. The Carrera is raw, noisy, and relatively unsafe. It has ton of character though. In contrast the Box handles amazingly, has AC that works, and is tons more refined. I drive the Carrera just because it is a cheap beater car to me (I love having a couple "beater" rat 911's). I love both cars, but they are very different and serve different purposes to me. If I had to pick just one or one to drive cross country, the Boxster would win without a second thought....
