Tesla has already demonstrated the pinnacle of e-power using current technology. I'm not sure what Porsche expects to do that is in any way better or different.

Furthermore, Tesla has proven that there is almost no market for a high performance, high cost e-sportscar. Tesla has only sold a little over 2,000 cars in their entire history.

i just like that burg blamed the eBoxster on CAFE standards. however the US's CAFE standards are lower than almost all other first-world countries. not to mention the auto manufacturers are not complaining anymore. plus i know he doesn't like the President so i thought i'd poke his goat a little.

as an aside, as i've said many times i have no issues with the theoretical exploration of purely electric cars.

but, i don't think they're viable at the current time because they are very limited in range and still have to get their power from somewhere. so we offload the emissions from a tailpipe to a smokestack. seems to be shortsighted.

i'm all for exploring the technology, but i don't like auto manufacturers trying to push electric cars as the solution. if i want a car to go 25-miles a day and sit overnight to recharge, a boxster would not be my first choice. however, some of the technology should filter down to future cars (not just p-cars) to make things more viable.
