Brake Fluid Filter

Just use a small needle nose pliers or small screwdriver to get the filter to pop out. Be gentle and you should be fine.

Cleaning the filter is probably optional. Removing excess brake fluid that is returned to the reservoir when you push the brake caliper piston back into the caliper to install the new brake pads is usually required to keep the reservoir from overflowing.
