so how much "porsche" or "boxster" is too much?
the count on my car is 15
front hood crest
steering wheel
key chain
key fob
floor mats (x2)
above the radio
when the radio turns on
e-brake handle
rear license plate holder
tires (x4)
rear deck lid
...
i could have ended up with the crest on the seat head rests (x2), door sills (x2), windstop bringing the total to 20, add in the running board decal and you could load it up to 22...

I never back in to parking spaces because most people won't recognize the type of car by looking at the back end (security by obscurity?). Whenever the front of my car is facing foot traffic, I always get nervous.
I'd feel nervous advertising on both ends! how the hell would i park??!

Lobo, that looks good ! Only thing I would do differently is put the crest up a
little higher and keep (in my case) "Boxster S" below it. I am torn with leaving it
untouched and stock or adding this. You could get one and just place it there and
see how it looks. You don't like it, you just pick it up and throw it in a drawer, or
away.....
If you look at a 550 Spyder. It has the crest and "Porsche" underneath it. Front
and back. It looks amazing.

Imho
Since the question seems to seek opinions, I'd say I don't like the gold crest on the rear. Maybe "Boxster" or "986", but not a gold crest.

In my opinion putting 986 on the back or completely de-badgeing looks good. I always liked that the car didn't scream "Porsche" to everyone; I like the car for its dynamics and aesthetics, not because of the Porsche badge.
Of course if you want to make your car stand out among the other Boxsters that would be a nice little touch.
Btw have you painted your bumperettes? That might be a more worthy place to spend your money (unless you can get a badge cheap). Painted bumperettes really shave off a couple of years on how the car looks.

Sorry, that looks terrible.
To each their own. That's what so great about these cars.

lol, well when my spoiler pops up it says "boxster" so does that count?
dont worry flavor I agree not everyone will like the same things. Personally, i'm not completely sold on it myself and it is my car! However, it was done to hide a scar on the trunk and it does it well. IMHO I prefer the most I think just a de-badged trunk... but who knows if I was to change it every time my opinion on the matter changed I would have to have 3 trunks so I could switch it out.

It looks fine. I've also wondered "remove the Boxster, don't remove the Boxster - then add 986 or that emblem...." It's never ending. My wife likes the Boxster so that's how it stays.

People really wouldn't be able to tell if you were coming or going with an emblem on both sides. I like nothing on the rear deck. Just plain.

IMHO, it looks a little garish.
A Porsche, any porsche, is one of the most distinctive cars on the road - especially in today's world of convoluted CAD teardrop shaping. There's no mistaking what it is already, no need to 'badge' it up.
This is the stuff for those guys who wear Porsche hats, porsche shirts, porsche belt buckles, using porsche money clips, lighters and flash drives - an appendage extender!
'Course... if you like it...
Cheers!
