Pics of Boxster with colored rims? Suggestions on painting my wheels
I'm looking for pics of boxsters with colored rims. Google search hasn't really brought any up.
The reason I'm looking is because my tires are getting thin on my black rims, and I have a brand new set of toyo's in my basement that fit my 18's that I have. The 18's need to be repainted as 2 of them were damaged. I already have black rims and although I think black would still look the best, I was thinking of painting my rims orange like the gt3 color, or possibly red. I want to stick to a color that wouldn't clash with the red calipers bad like green or tiffany blue would.
Give me your thoughts please.
I know its more ricey, but there are so many blacked out cars around here that I kind of want to mix it up some. I haven't seen another blacked out boxster, but when every cobalt and crappy impala is blacked out it kinda gets old.
Here are two and I stress REALLY crappy photoshop pics of my car that I did in just a few minutes.
If I went orange I don't think I would go with these graphics, but I was thinking more like the simple PORSCHE graphics that are on the new boxster spyder.
Or here is the wheels in red. I kind of like the red more, but I've seen more red rims on cars around here than I have orange.
If I did my wheels in orange then I would have two things that would be the same orange and black scheme... my car would almost match my bike. Haha

I like those wheels, but I'm looking to paint mine, not buy any. I was more curious to see if anyone has pics of their or someone else's boxster that has colored wheels besides silver, gunmetal, or black..

I wasn't suggesting that you should buy new wheels, the purpose of photo was to give a visual example of a red wheel . Any way, you might like this look .

I think either tirerack or discounttire has a section where you can see what a rim will look like on your car...since they have lots of colored rims for sale you can basically see any color you want.

Kabel- They actually were black chrome before I got into a nasty pothole. They always got really dirty quickly though
Wingnut- Love you're car. One of the best looking boxster I've seen. Thanks for the pic
Johnny- You also have one of the nicest boxster's ive seen on here too, although I wont lie, I don't like yellow, but you're is badass.
I would love to buy new wheels, but thats not in the budget so I was planning on just respraying the ones I have since I have a good set of tires for them. If I can afford new rims, I'd probably go with Forgeline since they are a Dayton company and a good buddy is one of the programmers there and have met the owner. Every time I go there it's like car porn. Stacks of rim shells in every size you'd ever want ready to be pieces together.
The idea if I painted them orange or red would to resemble a GT3. I have seen those pics of them you posted, but was hoping someone had pics of a boxster they already tried to make look like that. Theres one on porschestripes or whatever that site is called that makes the vinyls

I'll see what I can come up with. I was trying to avoid going with a green or even blue because my cars an S so it has red calipers. I could repaint those as well, but that might be a little more work than I had originally planned

Awesome. Thanks man. For some reason, I do like that. Might just go ahead and spray them orange. The center caps are powdercoated black so some of it will still be broken up anyways.

Thats how I like to build my bikes. If it doesn't make it stop or go its not needed. I've never had turn signals or a speedometer or any of that junk on any of the bikes I've ever owned. No weight+big engine= good ****************. That bike is a 1200cc and fulled gassed up it weighed right around 420lbs. No front brake, suicide shift also makes for a good time.
One of the reasons I liked the box. No traction control or anything like that.. it's a fairly simple car. Once again, if it doesn't make it stop or go, it really isnt needed.

that's how it's supposed to be:
Too much engine for not enough bike

Take a closer look at the pic by the headlight..The bars are below the top triple tree kind of like clip on bars that crotch rockets use. Its not the most comfortable style. I rode it once from Dayton to Pittsburgh and back though.
Pic of me riding it in Pitt... I was long haired dirty biker in this pic, was like 21 and thought I looked cool or something I guess.
And if it will open for you, a vid
