Motive bleeders in Canada

I want to bleed my brakes and clutch, and it seems the Motive is the way to go.

Which one is right for doing the Boxster? 0100?

Where best to buy one from Canada? The Canadian distributor Motive uses charges a 36% markup.

Yes that is the one I have...got it from Amazon for < $50...I used them because the shipping is the cheapest. Not sure where you can buy in Canada.

It is great for brakes, takes less then an hour. Work great on the clutch too but you'll need monkey arms...I did mine and boy it was fun

Why don't you just buy off ebay. The canadian dollar is higher than US. If you ship USPS this will be the total price.

Based on my own experience, I'd recommend spending a little extra to get the higher quality Black Label model 0109.

Better quality fittings - aluminum instead of plastic, longer hose. Seemed well worth the extra couple of bucks.

Mark has a point, mine (0100) doesn't have a swivel on the hose and it is a pain, but as little as I use it I just was careful and grumbled through it.

When you get it, ignore the instructions when they tell you to fill it with brake fluid. Use air pressure and just top up the master cylinder frequently (don't let it get below "min" mark). It will keep the bleeder clean and it works well.

Mike, trying to understand. I've never done this before, so just askin':

Why not put the brake fluid into the Motive? Less chance of running out of fluid and getting air in the system. And what's the big deal about having to dump the excess fluid out of the Motive and into the container you're collected the old fluid in for disposal? The opened container of new fluid has to be tossed anyways...

Just my 2 cents, I've done it both ways, since I have the 0100 and it doesn't come off easy I put the full fluid amount in the bleeder...either way will work.
