As boxster 6354 noted below, it is important to change the oil regularly. I change my oil every 3500 to 4000 miles. I believe it is also important to get the motor up to temp after you start it, this ensures that all the water moisture is evaporated from the oil after a cold start... I have over 209,000 miles on my 01.
