				IPD Plenum kit on order!!

I ordered yesterday the complete plenum kit with the new cylicone tubing for 895 shipped to my door.
I think I have almost every bolt on part possible now other then a cold air intake. I do have the drop in BMC filter. I know the cold air system is not worth the money itself but with the plenum kit setup would it be a beneficial upgrade now?

That's great! Please do us a favor and report back with your impressions.

Also, did you include the larger throttle body? Where did you order from? Seems to be a good price!

TIA!
Andy

Definitely let me know how this goes! We should try to get Ottawa Boxster guys together.

I contemplated this mod for my 3.4L but am happy with the current setup.

Yes I got the bigger throttle body 74mm separately. I ordered directly from IPD

I'll be sure to report back for you guys, but it will be installed when the salt goes away in spring.

VR - let's make it a point to organize a meet in Ottawa

As far as performance is concerned, there's no real net gain to be had by installing the cold air intake. However, at certain rpm's the sound is awesome . It has a real bark !

V&V Canadians, depending on how my house sale goes, I'd ride up to an Ottawa meet, especially if you can pointy out good places to stay where the parking is plentiful and safe.

I installed the IPD plenum with the 74mm throttle body last fall and I highly recommend it...RPM climb smoother and faster and throttle response is better. Also, more sound is coming from the air intake.

Hey John do you have a cold air intake? If so was it installed before after the plenum? Also do you have the hose in your setup?

Yes, I do have the hose as well. I have just a BMC filter which I installed the same time I installed full exhaust system back in May.

			John,
I hear that the plenum setup is more rewarding than an exhaust system, is it true? What was a more noticable gain exhaust or plenum?

Here is my take on exhaust and plenum upgrades:

Exhaust setup gave the car more top end improvements in the RPM range where the IPD plenum kit seemed to improve the whole RPM range. I think both upgrades complement each other.

Did the 895.00 price include the plenum and throttle body?

I have no clue I haven't tried either one of them, however, after doing a lot of research, I don't think you need either one, the T shape of the factory plenum does it as well as anything since the air flow is not constant, without constant air flow the Y in the tube serves no useful purpose. The Boxster engine works and acts like 2 seperate connected 3 cylinder engines and I see no advantage to a 74mm throttle body or either plenum, IPD's or Pedro's. It would be like putting a 750 Holley double pumper on a 283 engine, not only an overkill but will reduce power, especially in this analogy since all you may need is a 500 Rochester or at most a 650 double pumper, I'm leaving mine as is, I figure the Porsche engineers are pretty smart. I have had my ECU flashed and have a Borla catback exhaust, that's about all I need.

Performance wise, the IPD Plenum coupled to a 997 75mm TB has bar none been the most rewarding modification to date! Please share with us your thoughts post installation.
