A saving of $100 is great, but not at the expense of a cheaper pump that is so vital to the running of the car - the last thing I need in life is a broken impeller distributing itself through the cooling system.....

Steve,
im also from australia, let me know which way you go, as i am in need to change my waterpump shorty,
im leaning towards the waterpump kit sold with the lower temp thermostat from pelican parts,
will still be cheaper than buying locally from a dealer here in OZ

Sorry for the delay..
I'll let you know the outcome, just waiting on another price, but if you are interested in buying the low temp thermost as well (which I can fully recommend) get the whole kit from Flat 6 - thermostat, water pump. gasket and underspeed pulley if budget allows. With the $A = $US, you can't go wrong.....

Just in case anyone wants to buy the genuine Boxster water pump (and live in the Mill Valley area...),
There is a sale at Sonnen Porsche - the 996-106-011-55 water pump is going at $216.42. There is an ad in the dec issue of the Excellence magazine.
There's the drive belt, oil filter and air filter on sale too...
Too bad I just bought my drive belt and oil filters AND I just received my water pump from Pelican parts all the full price.... sigh.... could have saved alot of $$$.

Thanks for the heads up shlim8, but I'm like you - I have already ordered my new pump from Flat 6 - I'm sure somebody will take up the offer....
dsisco - look on the Flat 6 logo at the top of the page.
Go to bestsellers (thermostat), and then engine parts (cooling system & underdrive pulley).
If you can't see all what you want (I'm pretty sure they list individual parts), send them an e-mail and they will get back to you within a day or so. Their service is pretty good.
