I have the 4 channel. 2 dash, 2 door.

Don't count the speaker in the car.. just look the specs on the amp in your front trunk..

in some setup there is two door speaker hoocked up on the same channel (2x 2ohm to give 4ohm), in other setup they use the 4 output from the Radio to feed rear speaker.. so you really need to take a look on the amp itself..

For switching your amp, it depend if you have DSP (m680) or not..

If you don't have DSP, you can easily buy some rewiring on ebay to plug an aftermarket amp without slicing your connector, but as they said, don't just change the amp.. change the speaker too.. If you Have the DSP you can still change the amp but those little DSP button on your dash won't be usable. But don't spend to much money, I heard manys tories of peoples wasting bunch of money ending up with a crappy result because the car inside shape is just badly build for sound listning..

The amp itself is 40W, the Radio itself is 18W..

Good luck in your project..
