You know what's funny? ...you just described the 997. Since a 997 S can barely run with the C6, wonder how the regular 997 would match up? Might not be too pretty. DOH!

A $75K Cayman would indeed be ridiculous. Even at $65K it's pretty bad. I think they're banking on it to compete with the new M3 with the V8. I'm guessing the M will be priced somewhere in the high $50K's-low $60K's.

You clearly have not driven an C6. Nor a zo6.

These cars are fast and they handle. Keep in mind, there are alot of 911 drivers out there we would not want to have a beer with. It is about the CAR, not the drivers.

You're 100% correct. I've not, but history is hard to suppress and creates deep prejudices. It's not a car I'd get within 20'. Maybe it's a dimunition of testosterone but 'burn outs' got old for me years ago. I find my rush in the ocean.

You are again correct: about people. They are not all cartoon images and I was a little over the top with that characterisation. Most us surfers work on days when there are no waves...

Apology.

No need to apologize, Jim. I love Porsches AND certain Vettes so I was a bit touchy there myself.

BTW-I really like watching the surfers each day as I cruise the PCH. Hey, if I wasn't such an old timer, I might try that myself. Looks like TONS of fun.
