Conecting aftermarket amp question.

Hi Guys,

I am planning to add an aftermarket amplifier to the stock door speakers in my 99 Box. I have the M490 amplifier now an am trying to figure out if I can connect to the door speaker wires without cutting. I have an idea to cut apart an M490 to use the connector and make a harness. Is there an easier way? I would rather not cut the factory harness to preserve some resale….

I made two adapters so I can use an aftermarket amp with the factory harnesses. The adapters basically plug in where the factory Haes amp would plug in.

Amplifier harness adapters

I used a donor Haes amp to make my adapters. I think I paid less than $20 for the donor Haes amp on ebay. Either making an adapter, or just running new wires, is so much better than cutting the factory harness, IMHO.

Thanks, I saw your post before. I located a donor amp so I will be doing the same thing.

I really just need the door speaker wires. It sure loosks like a PIA to fish new wires through the door harneses. I'll just run new ones to the dash since it's pretty easy.
