RUF front bumper 986
Does anyone have one of these? If so, can you post some pictures of it? I am trying to find more than what is available on their website which is really limited.

Go back to the thread "lower?'. There is a photo of a silver 986 with a Ruf front bumper. Also, there is a member on this forum who has a red 986 with the Ruf bumper that you can see under the thread "Hamann Body Kit Project" as well. I have seen the Ruf bumper and side skirts in person, and they are very high quality. They are made from PURIM which is a material that is similar to polyurethane, and the fit and finish of these pieces is excellent. Also, MASHAW ( a California based company) offers a fiberglass "knock-off" of the Ruf bumper. That's maybe what is on that black boxster.

I looked into the bumper cover before buying the GT3, at the time they wanted 1700,00. Sorry but that's too expensive for me even though I like the look..

That's a good point, I think they want $1800 for the RUF now and the OEM GT3 can be had for quite a bit less I think. Are you happy with your GT3?

But the RUF looks like a trick Boxster S and the GT3 looks like, well, a GT3.

Very true, no argument, circumstances have placed me at a point in life where 1,700 for a cover just isn't doable anymore. I'd rather put a new flywheel and performance clutch in.....

Compared to bumpers like Hamann, Techart, Gemballa ect..; the likes of which all costing 3k plus, the Ruf bumper at $1,800.00 is extremely reasonable. I agree with Quickurt, the Ruf is more of a signature piece. Also, keep in mind that the Ruf bumper was designed to be more aerodynamic and functional than the oem bumper, and not simply cosmetic upgrade as many bumpers are. Take a look at those aggressive air ducts that are designed to create additional down force and cooling.

I like the way the GT3 looks, my OEM cover had a spider web crack in it, my body guy said they usually don't hold when repaired so I decided to change things up as long as I was taking the entire front end apart to look for any hidden damage.

Not at work but I might have something on my home puter, I can never figure out how you guys blackout the plate numbers. I have had unwanted friends on the net, so I try to avoid any shots with the digits...
