If you have even a modicum of mechanical capability, you can re-ring all the plug tubes your self and pop in some new plugs while you are at it for less than a c note........

I concur with the others... this is not hard to do if you're mechanically inclined. I changed my plugs and it took an hour and a half because I really took my time and the tubes and rings in the tubes are easily removed and right there.

The tubes surround the spark plugs. So you basically just yank them out and replace them with new ones and pop the seals on them and reseat them.

Mine were in there real good due to age and heat.

Are you sure it was the spark plug tubes they quoted you 8 hours labor to replace? It's about a 1.5-2 hour job max if you have a lift. Doing it on the ground with jack stands takes a little longer, but it sure ain't 8 hours.
