Front plastic window seal has come away from the window - suggestions?

http://alloycarparts.co.uk/images/parts/porsche_seal_001.jpg

The plastic / rubber seal has come away from the window, and has let windscreen wash in through the gap a couple of times, so its no longer water tight.

Any suggestions on what can be done???

thanks for help in advance.

If the plastic is in good shape, you can probably go to any autoglass shop to have it re-sealed.

If it's in bad shape, you can get a new one from the dealer, and then have an autoglass shop install it. Or if you don't care about the "factory" look, the shop will also have the generic stuff.

The plastic looked in reasonable shape to me, but when I got to Autoglass they said the back had crumbled away.

They tried with a screwdriver to apply pressure and press the seal back into place, but its still loose.

When I asked for options;

1) leave as is (not ideal!)
2) replace seal, which I was told meant taking the windscreen out !? he then went on to say the windscreen may crack when taking it out, so a new windscreen & seal too.

any more thoughts? is it worth getting a second opinion?
