Question hot boot?

Is it just me or is the car's rear boot that hot? Can't seem to put overnight bags in the rear otherwise clothes feel like they came fresh from the dryer. I put most stuff in the front. Rear is last option. I think I read somewhere in the manual that the temp in the rear is also controlled by the a/c. Any thoughts?

Sure, given it proximity to the motor/trans, it wiill get very hot indeed. I don't see any connection between the a/c and the heat back there.

Can you elaborate?

I do know there was an option to have an a/c vent in the front compartment to keep the CD changer cool as it stops working when it gets too hot.

...at least the 987's have this factory option one can order.

I have a 97 and have never seen an air conditioning vent in either trunk on any model, for that matter.

Hot Boot

When I go food shopping I never put perishables in the back. It really gets hot back there. Well look at it this way, we have 2 trunks while most people have one. So perishables go up front, paper goods go in the back. Anything that might be affected by heat, should go up front.

"Whether using the normal heating system or air-conditioning, the ventilation system is designed to enable the rear luggage compartment to be hated or cooled along with the interior of the car." - Boxster catalogue 8/96
