creaking top- something cracked?

Guys, just had one of the flower-type screws on the windshield frame (where the soft/hard top inserts) fall on me. This is the one that also doubles as the holder for the driver's side visor--see attached pic. The screw wont fit back so I just stuck some ovesized screw for the meantime- it's just for cosmetic purposes though. Since then, this portion of the soft top has been creaking constantly.

I'm guessing something has cracked in the interior. Any ideas what needs to be replaced?

Answers would be most appreciated. Thanks.
