National Geographic Channel

Did anyone see the Porcshe factory last night on NGC (ultimate factory)? If you missed it, it'll be air again on Oct. 25th at 11AM.

It seems the NG channel we get here on the west coast of Canada doesn't show it. Shame

This is a must see if you're into Porsches. The robotics are unbelievable with a robotic arm that opens the doors so another robotic arm can clear coat it, parts dollies guided by magnets imbedded in the concrete and a high pressure WATER nozzle that cuts the leather for the interiors. The best part for me was watching the technicians assemble the flat six motor, like watching an artist create a masterpiece.

Caught it ( dvr ) tonight. This was very cool.

Did you catch that the Stuttgart factory is producing 115 911's and 40 boxsters a day. Didn't realize the ratio was that high for the boxsters.

As someone still relatively new to Porsche, I'm still learning but was so entertained by this show that I watched it again after it first ran. Simply fascinating!

I saw it as well! DVR'd it and re-watched it twice How cool would it be to work there! It takes 3 years of training before they'll let you paint a car!!!

I liked the Ferrari "Ultimate Factory" episode as well!
