I bet the price is right - I wouldn't hesitate - but I would get a pre-purchase inspection.
What's not to love about a motor with only 9K miles on it?

When you say, "is it safe?" what do you mean?
Having a new engine is generally a pretty good thing (assuming you verify that it really is new).
Does it mean that it could not happen again?
No. That is why they have after market warranties. If you are really concerned, check that route out.

Thanks to everyone. Got the car and one more happy Porsche Boxster owner.
2003 Boxster S Black/Black with 18"Turbo look wheels
45000kM and new engine was replaced in 2006-AUG by dealer at 36000kM
Only thing I need for this car is a set of new shoes!
