repalcing maf sensor dealer reprogram?

I will be replacing my maf sensor in my 98 boxster in the next couple days I got a po102 code reading I am running a K&N filter it lasted about 5K miles tried cleaning it with no luck ,anyways got a new one from authous he said I may have to take it to the dealer to reprogram after replacing it ,I have never heard this ?I can clear the check engine light with my scan tool ,is that all I should need to do

Pop it in, clear the code, have fun.

BTW you need a T-20 screwdriver with a bore in the drive tip.

thanks bought a 10 piece set of the tamper proof torx bits tonight $10 at advanced auto

No reprogram needed, but (if you have your radio code then I'd disconnect the battery for 1 minute. This way the DME forgets it's old settings and learns from scratch
