Oil

I picked up my first Porsche a 2004 base Boxter in the last week of May with 35000 km on it. According to records the oil was changed at 33000km and tomorrow I'm getting an oil and filter change with now 50000km on it. I will be getting the oil (Mobil 1) analized like I do my other vehicles and am looking forward to seeing the results.

Sorry to reopen an old thread & don't want to upset anyone.

I have a question for Charles or JFP.

Over here in Ausssie we have difficulty getting some of the better oils you guys have access to. I have found a place that stocks Brad Penn, Royal Purple & Motul. Which is the oil of choice between these, or should I stick to Castrol Syntec 10w40 which is vailable everywhere?

Thanks in advance.

Brad Penn is good oil, but not a synthetic; I won't use anything from RP (for reasons already covered in too much detail), Motul has good oil but is ridiculously expensive. The Syntec is an excellent product.
