I bought a used Boxster key off ebay for $40. Then bought the blank key head from another seller on ebay for $6. Took it to my dealer and they charged me $100 to cut and program it.

The problem with that key pictured above is it's the Carrera key and you won't be able to pop both trunks with the key.

i wouldn't trust ebay sellers with Boxster keys. I heard too many stories of people getting burnt. I went this way when i lost my key

Sunset worked for me...

Very easy - I just ordered a factory cut key with the remote head and then had Sunset cut me an extra key with the non-remote head. Took them to my local dealer who programmed them both for $50.
