I tried a similar method last year posted from one of the Audi forums but the winter has worn away my handywork. I'm thinking of wet sanding all the wheels, using the new article's catalyzed glaze method for filling in curb rash, priming it and then taking it to a proper auto body shop for repainting. Shouldn't be too expensive if I've done all the prep work. Beats paying $1200 for a set of replicas.
there are places around here that will refinish a wheel (including any required straightening) for around $125. if it's just curb rash, they'll do it even cheaper.
