CEL on (not flashing) and temperature light flashing...

What could possibly cause this combination? Is is possible the two things aren't related (even though both things occurred near simultaneously)? I'm a bit miffed at the temperature issue as I had the water pump replaced about 10 months ago. Any ideas?

Garage
Start by checking your coolant level.

Low coolant level will cause the temperature light to blink.

Check your coolant level. Fill if needed. Then see if the CEL goes away. If not, go have it read and look up the code.

Did you figure out what your problem is? I had the same thing happen. Temp light flashing followed shortly by a constant CEL. Don't mean to scare you too much, and I hope it isn't the same thing that happened to me but when my CEL came on it could have just as well stood for "Change engine light". My coolant ended up where it wasn't supposed to be and that tripped the oxygen sensor thus the CEL.
