Aftermarket side scoops?

Who else, besides Kokeln, makes aftermarket scoops for the 986? I've considered just getting the 03-04 ones, but I'd like something a little different.

Google was not my friend on this one, so any input would be appreciated.

Patrick

I just happened to come across these last night and personally I like them better than the once from Kokeln..

Seems like a good price too. I guess they're really not scoops though.

Those are interesting. They look like they overlap the back side of the cutout? I emailed them for some more info/ pics so we'll see what they say!

Got am email back from those guys- they say they cannot ship car body kit parts outside the EU.

Anyone seen these for sale by any US vendors?

Garage
You know I remember seeing a set on a car on the web somewhere. I remember thinking that the intake side would draw more air in that the stock vent because it stuck way out. I'll see if I can find it.

Found it...a member on this forum, Kirk, has a set of these;

http://www.kokeln.com/ram_air_ducts.php

Duh, I guess I should remember what I read hu.

Gary in BR also has the Kokeln scoops, you just can't see them well in photos because they're black on a black car. I think mine fit well and are well made, but they are way too expensive IMHO. I worry too that they're too easy for a vandal to damage. Just grab and pull hard and there's $650 down the drain!!!

I wanted mine for two years and even entertained making my own. But in the end I broke down and shelled out for the Kokeln's. I've seen a couple other intake designs. I think a TechArt design was just recently discussed, but the Kokeln's are the only ones with an actual ram air type of "scoop" that I've seen.

Hahaha, and I thought the Kokeln scoops were expensive. Here's the TechArt intake vent for only $880!

The FVD looks like the intake previously shown, it's $614:

I think there's got to be a cheap copy of the FVD around somewhere....

The scoops ShopBlue is selling are exactly what I am looking for. Any fellow members based in the UK? I'd have no problem paying you for your time to get these shipped from ShopBlue and then send them to me in the US.

Those are pretty much the standard scoops wrapped in carbon fiber and the grills are painted silver. You could probably do that yourself.

www.zeintec.com offers a grill cover that simulates the 987 style for those with a 986.

I have had my Koklens for over 2 years and love them, to me it updates the looks of the car.

Good luck in your choice.
