I am glad to hear that everything seems to be turning out okay. I work for the Corps of Engineers (not always a good thing to reveal to folks from New Orleans) and have been following this pretty closely. Been working on the west bank pump stations from up here in St. Paul. When this thing was tracking west I was a little worried about the West Wego area but think everything is basically okay there. When they get the big gate built on the industrial canal it will help a lot with that surge they kept showing and talking about on TV Monday.

LoveBunny, are you home now? Did the car and your home and your families' homes fare well?

We need an update!

I'm back in New Orleans. My house has no power so I'm staying with my parents. We lost power in Zachary and Wifi and landline phone so all we had was sporadic cell service. Thankfully nothing horrible happened. My Boxster is still safe in the garage.

ISUNorth, I'll keep my Corps comments to myself around you! Really though I'm glad for the info. I really have no clue what is actually being done and where we stand when it comes to what is being done to prevent another Katrina.

All in all, sounds like good news, LB.

Shoe and purse collection survive unscathed, I trust?
