				Evacuating without my Boxster....

I think I'm going to evacuate for Gustav without my Boxster, so please keep your fingers crossed with me that it is okay. I'm going to lock it in my parents' garage which has never flooded. I hate to do it, but my parents are taking two cars, both with automatic transmissions, and driving in evacuation traffic alone in a manual will be horrible. I said I'd never do it, but I'm going to leave my baby behind. |

Take the baby, you have room for the puppies in it. I (and I am sure the rest of us) will be keeping our fingers crossed for ya. Good luck and keep us posted.

I know. I'm feeling so guilty about the thought of leaving it. I don't want to jinx myself by saying this, but my parents had two antique cars in the garage that made it through Katrina, so it should be okay.

Best wishes to you, your family, and of course that beautiful Boxster. To where are you evacuating?

Get the hell out of there, your Box can be replaced, people can't.
Whatever you decide to do, best of luck to you and your family.

I'm actually more worried about my brother. He is staying behind. He works for the power company in IT so I think he might be needed for work. Either way, he's staying. But he's pretty resourceful and has boxes of MREs so I'm sure he'll do fine.
I'm getting ready to leave in a couple of minutes. Hopefully you won't see some cracked out looking guy on the news driving a black Boxster with 19" turbo wheels filled up with Heinekens. |

First thing that came to mind when I read about Gustav in the news was you and your boxster!!!
I hope you and your family have guns and know very well how to use them.

I wouldn't move to New Orleans if someone pay me a million bucks....

...ok a million bucks plus a few submachine guns and ammo.
