Boxster A/C temperature LCD

My display had two missing bars for the fan speed display and the giant half moon on the right hand side. I bought the replacement on ebay, read the directions and prepared to replace that bad boy.

Well, when I popped the cover off the old display to my horror I learned that someone else had tried this before because the two phillips head screws that hold the display unit in place were completely stripped out. AAAAHHHHH!

How do I get them out? Once I do what do I replace them with? (I know, never end a sentence with a preposition, yada yada)
