I have Alpine's best single DIN unit (9887) and want to replace the stock 2005 HU. I didnt realize the 2004 had a faceplate like that. Dont much careabout the cupholders, but they do fill the space. Bottom line: will the 2004 HU faceplate fit the comparable space in the '05 dash? (the Alpine stuff was purchased when I thought I'd Putin in my Cooper S; bought Boxster instead).

The reason why I said sometimes is because I personally do not like to put the top up. During sunny weather the screen does get washed out so I end up folding it away as it is obsolete and the led display is more visible. Also I like that it folds away so that it is not as obvious to thieves. But like i said the double din does look good!
