I would do the 996 Turbo conversion. I thought about doing the same thing, I even bought the lights.
I looked at my car and thought I would be nuts to rip the thing apart. If I ever wreck it, it will happen. If I wreck the 996, I will do the same conversion with techart bumper.
I like the 997 conversion in theory, just minus the bumper. I think it is too busy/gaudy for the simple 986. The lights would be awesome though. A 987 conversion would be neat too.
