There is NO 1998 Boxster S. The 'S' model didn't debut until 2000.

To add a 3.2 Ltr. Boxster S engine to a '98 chassis, you'd need a new wiring harness, new DME, new Fuel system incl. Tank, Pump, Filter, Lines, Fuel Rail, Injectors, exhaust.

I wouldn't go anywhere near this car - too many Red Lights!

The dealer's wrong. This is an S model from 2000-2002, it was never a base car. It's got the S gauges and bezels, the S brakes, the S exhaust, the S chromed bits and a 6-speed. It's also got the air intake lip added to the 2000 MY. I like the seats. Have him give you the VIN and look it up to find what model year the car is ACTUALLY from.

There is a picture of the tag in the driver door, it's a '00s according to that. If the title sats otherwise I would run like hell..
