I like the line about the "newer interior". How can you tell? It's covered in trash. Geez, at least clean it up a little (or maybe he did). I wonder if it has that new car smell?

I checked my history book and you are correct sir, although this is missing the funky raised signal lights. He mentions that it has a body kit so that is what must move the signals to the front bumper. The 912 looks more like a 911. The 912 was also never sold outside of Europe despite its early popularity. It also was produced from 1965 to 1969 then reappeared again in 1975 for a one year production run with a larger 2L engine (tagged the 912E).
Another fun fact is a 912 Targa had the honor of being Porsche's 100,000th car to be made.

Both 912 generations were available in the US. The early 912 is exactly the same car as the 911 with the exception of the 1.6L 4cyl from the 356. The 1976 model 912E was available only in North America and used the 914 2.0L engine. I predict the early 912's will be the next model to skyrocket for anyone who's been watching early 911 "901" era prices over the past few years.

That's interesting, my Porsche history book says they were not sold in the US. Oh well, not too important.

My first Porsche was a 1966 912, I still hear the sweet sounds of those solex carbs at full throttle and 5000 rpms....
