little red button

I've got a 986 '02 boxster s and have notice a tiny red button that seems to have appeared from the gap where the joing between the centre console and stereo part meets on the drive side. Its got 2 small wires connected to it which seem relativley loose. I havent pressed the button yet but dont have a clue what its for. Would anyone have any ideas?

Cheers

NOS!!

There is no telling, it is not anything OEM I have ever seen.
It could be a sub woofer switch. How about extra lights on the car, on the outside or the foot well hack?

I would follow the wires and see where they run or call the previous owner if you can track him/her down.

Growing up the car magazines said how amazing Porsches are. Was I brainwashed? Somehow...I doubt it.

Ah the mysteries of owning a second hand car... I had a strange wire running from under the driver's seat to the rear wheel. Never figured out what that was for, but it wasn't connected to anything, so I pulled it out. I found my Lojack system too in its secret hiding place.

As for this mysterious button, just push it and see what it does. I'm betting that it's for an OBD hack.

Don't a lot of people have hidden ignition cutoffs?
