Agreed - never driven an e36 M3, but the E36 is much more my kind of sedan. I could see this as a good choice for a dedicated track car.

The E46 M3 is fast but not stimulating. The E46 M3 CONVERTIBLE is a disappointing package. Suspension like a brick. Corners like a snowmobile with about the same feedback. I rank it somewhere close to the Mustang (Cobra) Convertible.
