pinhole button in interior light at r/view mirror

Have an interesting question.

I have a 2004 Boxster and I'm finally getting to know the car inside and out.

I noticed a little pinhole in the interior light at the rear view mirror. It appears to be a button you can access with a pen point.

Does anyone know what it may be and what it does?

Dave

Probably a release to access the light bulb.

Yesterday we worked on a 2003 so I had the owner push the button several times while I looked at the orientation lights and I could see the brightness change. I did not ask him to push and hold. Since I have a 1997 bamaboxster can do that test.
