Another one of those "venting" posts...
Well, it started out as a nice day. Took the wife out to lunch, stopped to look at some puppies, took a nice ride in the country, and went to look at some new houses on the way home ( in case the move to CA falls through ). After looking at the houses, I went to open the door for my wife ( yes, I still do that, always ), and I noticed that someone had opened their car door and took a nice chunk out of my passenger side mirror. I am always very careful where I park my car ( because I know people are clumsy and inconsiderate ) and neither my wife nor I mind the long walk since we are both in good shape ( unless it is really cold out then I'll just drop her off at the door ). It just frosts me to no end that people just damage other people's property and don't care ! Broke out the Novus and Zaino when I got home and tried to clean up the scratches the best I could but since part of the paint is now chipped off there's not much I can do unless I replace the mirror !
Anyway, no real point to this, just wanted to get it off my chest...
Have a great week everyone !
Nick

That blows, Nick. I know just how you feel. No matter how hard you try, some inconsiderate jerk will eventually find your car.

Hey Nick,
I picked up a pair of mirror covers at a swap meet a few weeks ago. It's made out of the same material as a front end mask. They were made for our mirrors so they fit perfectly and since your car is also black they do not stand out.
I got them in case we take a long trip to keep the bugs off the mirrors but I also have a pair on my 911 that I leave on all the time because there is a scratch on one of the mirrors and I figured it was an inexpensive alternative to repainting the mirrors.

Sorry to hear about that - I think that most people are pretty considerate, but I guess it only takes one jerk to ding up your car.

That sucks, what a way to end a good day. It would be nice to catch one of these guys in the act.

At least the car is black like mine. I had the same thing happen to me. I had to get alittle bit gangsta and broke out the black sharpie and no one has ever noticed since.

It's funny how we people are different -- if I'd done that to any of the girls I've been seeing throughout the years, I bet they would have dumped me on the spot with a comment like "I'm not handicapped" or something like that.
Anyways, sorry about that side mirror.

Yeah, I do that for my wife and I think she is appreciative of it. This world has become too politically correct. Chivalry doesn’t become chauvinism until after opening the door for her, you tell her she doesn’t have a right to vote.

JAAY,
That is too funny ! I actually broke out the sharpie as well. It did help...
Peer,
It sounds like you are dating the wrong women ! Also, if you don't open the door, you can't see if they pass "the test" or not ( rent "A Bronx Tale" if you don't know what I am talking about ) :

Heck, I open the car door for all kinds of people...men, women, skinny, bald, non-whites, gay & lesbians (not that there's anything wrong with that!). Because, not only am I chivalrous, I don't want anyone messing up the door!
