If you don't have the bypass pipes, does it fit without the clamps?

Yes. You don't need those clamps if you are only doing the exhaust. You just reuse the clamps that connect to the original exhaust.

Also as an FYI for those having a drone or a "boom". You definitely have an exhaust leak on the slip fits somewhere. I put one on two days ago, drove to work and back, that "boom/drone" was there on the highway. Came home and sure enough, two of the slip fits had loosened up. Spent an hour or so under the car adjusting, tightening, adjusting, tightening to the point I had zero leaks. Now the exhaust sounds excellent. Little louder on the highway, but nothing the radio won't drown out (even at normal volume). Did get to take it under a tunnel, and holycrap that sounds good.

Next up is the secondary cat delete!

For muffler only, is bumper removal required?

Nope, I did mine without the bumper removed. Just need a 13mm wrench to get the top two nuts (attaching to a stud on the exhaust).

Life will be much easier if you can get the C-pipes on the side off, but mine were on there good. Somehow still managed to wrestle the muffler down off the car after playing with some angles.

When you put all the slip fits back on. Start up the car and get under there with your hand and feel for any leaks, keep adjusting the location of both the pipe and the clamp itself until the leak is gone. You WILL notice a leak, even if its a small one.

Yep, any leak will give a drone. If you do the cat delete pipes, I highly recommend the clamps that I got.

Would a muffler sealant or strip of gasket help fit the seal? 13mm ratchet is the only tool I need? Swivel socket? Deep socket?

Go take a look at this thread. Top Speed's Cat Back System Installation

For the C pipes, you won't need sealant or a gasket, just takes some fiddling to get it right.

So you can see that you will need a 15mm and I would recommend a 13mm deep socket. Makes life easier. I also used some open ratchets as well. Harbor Freight is your friend

Regarding the C-pipes as well. I found that shoving them as deep as possible won't seal up anything. Really does need to be tinkered with to find that "sweet spot".

I hate slip joints with a passion.

Installation complete! Everything lined up perfectly. Getting the old "boat anchor" out was a beeotch though. The new one went in like a virgin on prom night. Thanks Che.

I have only warmed it up then driven home 2 miles home from the garage. Does it break in and get more mellow after awhile? I'm asking because I had done the 'ol drill in through the tailpipe mod and my stock sounded louder. I do notice a small bit of fiberglass coming out though already.

Yes, it does take some break in, at least 100 miles. I still get some fiberglass. Good excuse to go drive Glad you got it in with no problems
